Naturally Fractured Development

Larry Franks is a Senior Petroleum Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with over 25 years experience with projects in Australia, North America, Central America and the Middle East. He began his career working for several years with AAR Limited on the Roma and Denison Trough development areas. He was recruited to Magellan Petroleum where he was instrumental in the appraisal, quantification and development of the Palm Valley gas project and the Mereenie Oil Field in the Northern Territory of Australia and rose to Operations Manager in the company. He has been consulting on technical projects since 2007. His career has specialised in all aspects of low permeability, naturally fractured reservoirs and in the underbalanced method of drilling, in particular air drilling. This career afforded him a wide range of practical experience in operational and project management aspects of gas and oil production from the design and drilling of wells, the construction of plant and equipment to the operation, safety and maintenance of plant and facilities.
